The Bentley line of cars offers a level of luxury that is unmatched by any other car manufacturer on the planet. If you're in the market for a Bentley, but you aren't sure whether you should buy a new or Used Bentley, here are some pros and cons about buying new versus used that you should think about.

Pro for Buying New

New Bentley's include long-term warranties and guarantees. Because everything is new, you can feel confident that nothing is going to go wrong with the mechanics of your vehicle for the first several years. This kind of security is hard to pass up.

Con for Buying New

Bentley's have a very high depreciation rate, especially in the first 2 years of ownership with about a 50% depreciation over 3 years. Buying a Bentley that's 3 years old or older means that you're getting a much cheaper car and that it will hold it's value at that age for an extended period of time.

Pro for Buying Used

You're probably going to pay less for your car insurance for a used Bentley than you will for a new one. Your insurance is going to be more costly regardless, new or used, because Bentley's are a higher priced car no matter how old they are, but it's certainly going to be less than what you would pay for a new Bentley.

Con for Buying Used

You may end up paying higher interest rates for your financing for a used Bentley than you would for a new Bentley. The good new is that you're talking about a quarter of a point higher, if that, so the cost difference won't be too bad.

The Cost of Buying Used

The biggest reason that you might want to consider a Used Bentley over a new one is the cost for your initial purchase. Take for example the Bentley Continental GT, which is 50,000 used. A new Continental GT starts at 130,000. That's a significant price difference. Although the body styles have changed, you'll find that the used GT is still incredibly expensive looking and modern.

If you want to save a bit of money, and still get a car with class and style, then consider a used Bentley. You'll get a car worth driving for many more years.
