I just got an email in from a client of mine who went through my marketing class - and my sales letter success class. Ghislaine sells the finest Belgian chocolates in the world and has now stepped into the direct response marketing arena.

The power of a sales letter is something very few businesses get to experience.

Why?

Because they:

a) Don't understand what it is and how it works

or

b) know about them but use excuses like "that won't work - people don't read those things," or another one a lot of people use "myyyyyy business is different!" First, learn how to write them - they work and work well. Second, your business is NOT different. You deal with people right? It is no different than any other business out there - you sell to people.

Even if you fall into the trap of selling "business to business" you still have to get PEOPLE to sign off.

So it is not different and it WILL work. Back to Ghislaine's experiences in the short time (couple months) she's been using sales letters.

Remember, these are letters she writes herself. She learned how to write them properly... then she actually used what she learned (another key here is to apply what you learn).

NOTE: She gets a very good response to this letter. She has people THANKING HER for sending them sales messages.

How is that possible?

Mainly because people love to hear more from people they have bought from in the past.

Yet, fewer than 5% of the people I talk to EVER send anything to their buying customers after the initial sale.

That is why people love it. They found out about you, checked you out, bought from you - and would like to buy from you again as they now trust you.

And when you stay in touch and tell them what is happening - you WILL increase your sales.

In fact every time you send another letter, newsletter, or announcement to your client list - you make money.

So, again, why aren't more people using sales letters?

Education... and laziness.

Plain and simple.

Write more - earn more...

Now, write your clients. Do it this week! You will get a favorable response. Just write from the heart and give them a good reason to read what you write (talk in terms of their interest - not yours).
