A pheromone is a chemical that the body makes in response to something in the environment. It is known that animals use these chemical secretions to let other animals know about something. For instance, a wasp nest full of wasps will continue to attack a danger to the nest as they are releasing alarm pheromones to let the other wasps know who they are attacking.
The real question is whether or not human beings are affected by a pheromone. There has not been a lot of research studies done on this to determine for sure how pheromones affect human sexuality, if at all. There are many products on the market that claim to be able to help individuals attract others of the opposite sex to them, but finding the ones that may actually work can be difficult and expensive. It is hard to know for sure if it was the created chemical that is causing the attraction to that person or if it is some other variable.
When it comes down to a pheromone for attraction, it can be easy to dismiss it as something that only animals use to communicate with each other because they are unable to verbally communicate. The problem with this is that although we do have the power of speech, that does not mean that pheromones do not play a role in how we attract others to us. It may be difficult to find the right artificial pheromones that work with your body chemistry to help make you more attractive, but it is not impossible. There are several on the market that can be tried to see which will give you the best results in helping to attract a mate.
There is still debate on whether or not humans use a pheromone secretion to help them look more attractive to the opposite sex. With the lack of true scientific studies, it can be hard to decide whether or not the attraction is based on the pheromones or if it is based on something else. For many individuals, they have found success with using artificial colognes and perfumes to them with finding the perfect mate for them.
